Custom Radio Imaging:
Ifan Davies BBC Radio Cymru
Hundred Hand Slap teamed up with BBC Cymru and Cymru 2 to create a custom radio imaging package for Ifan Davies' new show.
Airing at 7pm every Thursday night, it's a specialist music radio show giving you a chance to hear your favourite songs, as well as discover fresh favourites. The brief called for radio imaging production to match. A world of its own, sounding distinct from the station around it while still feeling like a BBC Cymru offer, with a strong focus on station branding and audio identity.
The opener takes its cue from a GTA-style radio tuning sequence, with an old school Welsh DJ voice cutting through archive radio and channel static before landing in the present day and transitioning into the show. From there, the full imaging package, including a show opener, show closer, feature idents, custom music beds, and a suite of radio idents, all spawn from the same sonic world, keeping the sound consistent across the whole show.
The entire package is produced in Welsh, rooting the show's identity firmly in the language and culture it celebrates.
