Shooting Star Unwrapped
Hundred Hand Slap was commissioned by Shooting Star Children’s Hospices to create the original theme and sonic identity for Shooting Star Unwrapped.
Hosted by the charity’s Executive Vice-President Karen Sugarman MBE, the podcast takes listeners behind the scenes of Shooting Star through candid conversations with some of the UK’s best-known names from entertainment, music and television. Guests so far have included Dame Joan Collins, Michael Ball and Brenda Blethyn, sharing stories from their lives and careers as well as their personal connection to the charity.
Our brief was to create an identity that could set the tone for the podcast while giving the production team plenty of flexibility throughout each episode. We developed a complete suite of musical elements, from the main opener and closer through to talkover beds, stings and shorter transitions.
Each element stems from a single composition, allowing the identity to flow naturally from the opening moments into conversations, stories and transitions throughout the show.
