Hundred Hand Slap was commissioned by talkSPORT to create the title theme music for How to Win the World Cup, the football podcast hosted by Matt Forde.

The brief called for a theme that could capture the excitement of the world's biggest football tournament while reflecting the show's mix of football insight, humour and storytelling. Rather than following the familiar route of cinematic builds and epic sports music, we deliberately took a different approach.

Drawing inspiration from classic funk and soul, we created a playful, groove-led track that feels energetic, optimistic and memorable, giving the podcast a distinctive sound from the opening seconds.

Alongside the main theme, we developed a suite of supporting audio assets including transitions, stings, drones and other production elements, creating a complete sonic toolkit for the series.

The finished package provides a unique sonic identity for the podcast, perfectly complementing its entertaining and light-hearted tone while standing apart from more traditional sports podcast soundtracks.
