Production Music Library

About the Library

What is production music?

Production music, sometimes called library music or stock music, is music composed specifically for use in media productions rather than for commercial release. Unlike a pop track or album recording, production music is created to be licensed for use in TV, film, radio, advertising, podcasts, games, and more. Because the rights are owned and controlled by the library, it can be cleared and used quickly and legally, without the complexity and cost of approaching record labels or artists directly. It's the industry standard for professional broadcast and media production worldwide.

What is the Hundred Hand Slap Production Library?

A curated catalogue of production music and sound design created specifically for professional media use. Built from a global roster of composers, the library spans contemporary and commercial styles with a particular strength in radio imaging, broadcast beds, and sync-ready tracks for TV, film, advertising, video games, and branded content.

What makes the Hundred Hand Slap library different?

We have deep roots in the radio imaging and station sound world, which makes us quite unique among production music libraries. Alongside our music catalogue, we carry a large array of FX packages — short form effects designed specifically for use in station sound, promos, trailers, sweepers, and more. It's the kind of toolkit that broadcast and imaging producers rarely find in a single library.

Is this a royalty-free library?

No. The Hundred Hand Slap library operates within the PRO system, which means music is properly licensed and performance royalties are collected and distributed via PRS for Music and affiliated societies worldwide. This is the industry standard for professional broadcast and sync use.

Is the music cleared for use?

Yes. All tracks in the library are fully cleared and sync-ready. The music is registered with PRS for Music and MCPS, meaning usage is handled through the standard PRO reporting framework rather than a direct royalty-free buyout. This keeps things legitimate, properly reported, and commercially sound.

Track Versions and Formats

What versions do tracks come in?

All tracks come in a vast array of hand-crafted versions, making it simple to drop the right cut straight into your project. Here's what you can expect:

  • Full — the complete track as intended, with all elements in place.

  • Instrumental — available where the main version features vocals, giving you the same energy without the words.

  • Lite — a stripped back version with fewer elements, ideal for sitting under speech or narration without competing with it.

  • 30 second — a purpose-edited version that hits all the key moments of the full track in half a minute, perfect for promos and ad spots.

  • 15 or 10 second — a tighter cut again, ideal for stings, short form content, and social media.

  • Loops — repeating sections that can be extended to any length, great for beds and backgrounds where you need the music to breathe and flex around your content.

  • Drones — sustained atmospheric textures for building tension, space, or mood, ideal for documentary, drama, and immersive audio work.

Not every track will include every version, but where they exist they're ready to go — no editing required.

What audio formats do tracks download in?

All tracks are available as high quality WAV files, suitable for professional broadcast and post production use. MP3 versions are also available where needed. If you have specific technical requirements for your project, just ask and we'll do our best to accommodate.

Licensing and Usage

Can I use the music worldwide?

Yes. The library is available for international use. Licensing is handled through the PRO system, which has affiliated collecting societies in territories around the world, meaning your usage can be properly reported and cleared wherever your production is distributed. If you have specific territory questions, get in touch and we'll make sure you have the right licence in place.

How do I licence music from the library?

Get in touch directly via info@hundredhandslap.com. We'll discuss your project, usage, and territory and guide you through the appropriate licensing route. For UK broadcast, advertising, and podcast use, licensing is handled via PRS for Music and MCPS.

Can I use the music for radio imaging and station production?

Absolutely — radio is at the heart of what we do. The library has been built with broadcast professionals in mind and includes beds, stingers, drones, and atmospheric tracks designed to sit beautifully under speech and imaging. Whether you're producing a show package, a promo, or a music sweep, get in touch.

Can I use the music for TV and film?

Yes. Tracks are available for synchronisation in television programmes, films, documentaries, online video, and streaming content. All uses require accurate cue sheet submission to your relevant PRO. We can advise on this if needed.

Can I use the music in advertising?

Yes, but advertising use requires a specific synchronisation and mechanical licence obtained via MCPS in the UK, or your local equivalent collecting society. Please contact us before use and we'll help you get the right licence in place.

Can I use the music in video games and interactive media?

Yes. The library is available for use in video games, apps, e-learning content, and interactive media. Get in touch to discuss terms.

Can I use the music in a podcast? Yes, but podcast use requires a licence via PRS for Music and MCPS prior to use, regardless of whether the podcast is monetised. We can point you in the right direction.

How do I submit cue sheets?

You or your production company are responsible for completing and submitting accurate cue sheets to the relevant broadcaster or PRO. If you're unsure how to do this, we're happy to advise.

Can I use the sound design assets in another library or sample pack?

No. Sound design assets from the library cannot be repackaged, redistributed, or resold as part of any other library, sample pack, or audio product. See our full Terms of Use for details.

Bespoke and Custom Work

Can I commission a bespoke album for the library?

Yes, we're more than happy to create albums upon request where the project works for both of us. Whether you have a specific genre, mood, or format in mind, get in touch and we'll explore what's possible.

Do you offer bespoke or custom versions of tracks?

Yes. If a track is close to what you need but not quite there, we can work with our composers to create custom edits, alternative mixes, or fully bespoke versions. Get in touch to discuss.Composers

Composers

Can I write for the Hundred Hand Slap library?

Yes. We're always open to hearing from talented composers. Get in touch, submit three recent tracks that represent your work, and we'll take it from there.

What styles and genres are you looking for?

We're open to a wide range of styles, but we have a particular appetite for contemporary and commercial music that works well in broadcast and media contexts. Strong beds, atmospheric textures, and tracks with good energy and clear structure tend to work well in a production library setting. If you're unsure whether your sound is a fit, submit anyway and we'll give you honest feedback.
