Remember Me?
3/02/2011
Long time, no post. This summer is too damn hot, I tell you. I can barely be bothered carrying my camera around with me. What a terrible attitude.
Here’s a few shots from recent weeks. No real theme here.

Long time, no post. This summer is too damn hot, I tell you. I can barely be bothered carrying my camera around with me. What a terrible attitude.
Here’s a few shots from recent weeks. No real theme here.

My friend Steph invited me out for a Christmas dinner with her, her fellow and a number of her friends last night. Resulted in some great shots.

Fuh. A relatively quiet (and plenty enjoyable) night on Friday watching Michael Palin docos and drinking expensive French cider was followed on Saturday morning by a fantastic home-cooked scrambled eggs this utterly amazing fresh bread from some bakery in Nicholson Street.
At 30, that’s my idea of a good time!
Saturday afternoon saw us kick off festivities for Kev’s buck’s night, with the groom and groomsmen heading down to The Jam Factory to watch Red. Excellent movie. We missed the first 10 minutes of course, because none of us bothered to tell the groom that anything was even happening!
Now that’s solid planning.
After the movie, it was off to the Tiki Bar for drinks, along with the presentation of Kev’s costume (the poor bastard) and the challenges he’d be facing for the night.
A great time was had, though I don’t mind admitting I went too hard too soon, and ended up heading home early. Don’t quite recall the trip home…
Time again for the monthly ‘end of month meet’ for the JDM Style Tuning forums, which I help run.
This month’s event, held on this Saturday just past, will probably be the last one at Docklands for a little while. As our numbers grow, the number of troublemakers increases – and so does the presence of security or, worse, the police.
No police this month, but the car park’s security did show up. They were quite good about the whole thing, but in the end it’s all private property and we need to look at organising a meet that doesn’t rely on using a government- or privately-owned venue for our gatherings.
For next month, we’re considering a drive out to the country, with lunch at a pub or restaurant somewhere. We’ll see how that goes…
Caught up with Justin and Christina again for breakfast this morning, and to discuss some potential collab work. Yes I drink at Starbucks, I really don’t care about yer fancy coffees, Melbourne. Get off my nuts eh wot.

So good to catch up with Justin and Christina again. I saw them both in Sydney a couple of months ago, but it was a busy weekend for all of us and a proper catch-up was just too difficult to squeeze in. They’re both such energetic personalities, they really bring out the life in everyone whenever we get together. Great to see ‘em both.
Spanish eggs (basically Eggs Benedict but with chorizo sausage instead of ham, apparently) at Cafe Issus. Check out the Cafe Issus review at Be The Foodie.
Only a few photos, no need for a page break.
I caught up with some old friends and made some new ones last night, with a couple of folks coming down from Sydney to check out the Semi-Permanent design conference (I really need to go to this eventually).
Justin and Christina made the trek down to Melbourne, and because they own the online JDM Style Tuning and VWGolf.net.au communities, we organised an impromptu joint meet between the two groups.
Sadly, as is generally the case in cold old Melbourne, not many guys could dig their balls out of their vaginas to join us and it was a pretty small outing in the end. Certainly wasn’t boring though.

Friedy and her friend Min threw a joint birthday bash at Friedy’s this past weekend, with a sequin-inspired theme.
A few favourites, within.
This has been a busy week. I haven’t been home for a single evening since last Friday, and it’s going to continue that way until Monday, I think. And I’m definitely not boasting; I’d give your left eye for a night in, right now.
This afternoon, I had a suit fitting in the city for a friend’s wedding, so I left work a little early and dropped in on Friedy before heading in for the suit fitting.
It’s become a little bit of a tradition to join my friend Jasmine (check out her blog, dardoandme.com) and her little man Eduardo on Tuesdays, but with my lady’s bday falling on a Tuesday this week, I ended up skipping out on Jas and the little D.
No fear though; a proper dinner party has been planned for tonight, so I’ll be heading over there shortly.
In the meantime, here’s some shots from the last time I dropped over.
I hadn’t seen Maya in a while, but Fi’s been leaving her outside on nice days, so I took the little rascal for a walk today.
This one goes out to all the doggy lovers.
That’s not what it sounds like…
